And it was perfect :)

Her Seafood Set. Rather generous portion of seafood you see here, but it was pedas/spicy and will be torturing to those who cannot endure the spice.

Side dishes served were the same for both sets (and perhaps for other available bento sets too). The ever-famous kimchi, lotus root and the green vege tasted weird to me; they tasted sour. Do Koreans and vinegar blend together?

Speaking about tea, their tea had a certain sweet taste, something like, chinese tea with sugar in it ??! Not my cup of tea *shy

Very sure that I still prefer Japanese.. so I guess I'd have to exclude Korea out from my 'list to travel' meantime

Sashimi anyone?

Brain Freeze

I am not too sure if I have blogged about my extremely h.o.t room in Sg before, but right now, I am in a totally opposite situation...Almost experiencing a brain freeze quite soon, I am currently putting on thick layers of clothes , and perhaps more in the future because I will force myself to be here at my cubicle here more often else my project will just be like another stagnant drain like the one behind your house *kns

For those who are still pondering, I am now back to student life. A choice which was made after considering and weighing aspects involved. A friend once commented that I think too deeply before I make any decisions - that I agree. I guess when we all reach a certain point of life, there are less 'YES-es' to be made so easily anymore as we experience the real meaning of the vocabulary known as 'sacrifice(s)' slowly creep into our lives.

Hmm, I wonder how my life will be in 20years time. And the next 30. And the next 40 ??

Haha, yeah, practically I have no topic to blog about now. Since my photos are in my lappie back in my room, so here I am rambling while giving myself an excuse for a break from what I was previously on.

*grins

Teary Weary

Have you ever been very very afraid of something .. and it haunts you day and night?
......
....
worse, the dream shows no sign of halting ; you wake up daily drenched with sweat , dreading and hoping that 'the dream' never ever come true.

The moment it flashes into your mind, the rapid pounds of your heart , the about-to-shiver-and-stammer reaction becomes obvious that it is impossible to hide them...

My prayer to the Lord ;

Grant me peace within my heart, Solomon's wisdom and grace in my life as I embark the journey He patched for me. Near the MRT station and NTU's shuttle bus stop which makes things very convenient for me. Just outside the MRT station, there are food outlets ranging from Mamak/Western/Chinese at your choice. They even have dimsum which I'd never want to try *evil grin

Also, there are 2 grocery stores, 1 bakery, 1 clinic and 1 saloon located outside the MRT station thus making it so obvious on the reasons I've put on some weight lately.

The happening mall is located just opposite the next MRT stop and there I'd get to watch a movie, have my shopping hunger satisfied or have my Java Frappucino when I cannot stand the hot weather. Also another reason why I can be broke in no time?

Grass is Greener the other Side - Introduction

So much on the comments on me becoming a more tanned person, hear me out...

Sg is pretty hot, or sunny or humid or stuffy...whichever contributes more towards my physical transformation, I seriously have no idea.
And walking to the bus stops/mrt stations without an umbrella damages your skin especially your walk is at noon. Averagely, an umbrella here costs around $10, so I refused to get one in Sg...I instead 'tahan-ed' my need till I went back home for a really short weekend (for an important purpose) last week and got the most basic umbrella for a mere RM 9.90 ($4.00).

This is me back to the typical student life. No more Starbucks but kopitiam coffee. No more McDs but Ramli burger..I even bought few packets of biscuits which I can easily purchase here because it is cheaper in Msia *shy

Kns, I sound so kelian but anyway, Sg's education system is actually spoiling me because there is a McD outlet in NTU itself, and with $2, you can purchase yourself a double cheese burger or a Mc Chicken. Tax inclusive. But mom freaked out when I told her about the McD outlet in NTU and kinda banned me from having meals there...

There are many more unexpected outlets in NTU too. Wait for my future blog entries if you do not believe me!

Next week will mark my 4th week in NTU. Yes I am pretty much used to it here, well I have to right? And trademarked a very frequent traveler, I guess I have the advantage to blend in quicker compared to others? The 1st few weeks was tougher - lost in NTU, not too sure of which bus to take, etc...and adapting in NTU was slightly harder as full orientation only catered for undergraduates.

However, I managed to find something useful to kill time, and somehow eventually managed to leave my footprints in NTU.

My maiden piece of opinion-article published in the 31st August 2009's Nanyang Chronicle's issue (one of NTU's newpaper which they circulate for free every 3 weeks). The experience is sorta thrilling but tedious because I didn't know what to expect and certainly I wasn't exactly sure on which angle to approach. There were some parts filtered and edited to cater to NTU's standard and requirement etc but all in all, I have had my share. Certainly taking a break from writing and will focus on my main intention of becoming a photographer for the paper whenever needed :)

I am saying hello to assignments and tests. Nostalgic for many of you I presume?
*chuckles

Wish me luck.
My brain is certainly not giving its best cooperation.

Hong Kong : Day 6 (Lantau Island)

This is superbly long overdue, have to 'jelas hutang' (pay debts) before I start blogging on my Sg life of which will be more of your interest right? *grins*

So, Day 6, let me recap..ah..breakfast was corn porridge and yaw cha kuey , the typical breakfast in Hong Kong that you always see in TVB series..uncle bought them on his way back from his morning jog...I just couldn't understand why porridges in HK taste extremely smooth and good and delicious and [I lost my words]! I know, I know, I've emphasized too many times on the delicious porridges I have had, well, just bear with me, they are just ..just sooO different from the ones you get in Malaysia...I wonder what the secret recipe is ?

A light breakfast it was because the entire plan was to reserved our tums for a sumptuous lunch at a revolving restaurant located in Wan Chai. We opted for the set lunch because we simultaneously agreed that buffet lunch is too heavy for the ladies. Their set lunch comes in 3 types of main course that you can choose from ; Lasagna, Grilled Salmon or Black Pepper Steak which comes with complementary drink-all-you-want soup of the day and eat-all-you-want desserts (quite a variety they have there). Cousin ordered Lasagna which he couldn't finish while the ladies opted for Grilled Salmon. Truthfully, umbrellas are the least sufficient sun protection products of all, but ...obviously the ladies just couldn't take the risk can they?

After a long afternoon of free sauna , we headed back home and had our usual typical Chinese ala carte dinner ..nothing special so I'd skip the dinner because it is 230am now and I need to sleep part kay?

Quick Hi

I feel much calmer as Pachelbel's Canon in D makes its way into my ears.

After another hectic week, no, I am not dead yet, almost though.

Had been rather busy lately (yes, I still remember that I wanted to blog about last the two days of my HK trip)...plus I have not the slightest idea why the headache keeps on greeting me always....like I am having it even right now?

Sigh, sign of aging perhaps, not even 1/4 of a century old man...FAIL
@.-

Say hi to the 'pepperoni' on my left knee & the blue-black on my left palm (not that visible in this photo though).

Got them when I tripped & fell during one of my jogging days ..such a Miss Whoops I am lately!
*grins*

For sure, the wound still hurts ... have to resort to skirts (can you imagine me wearing one?) else the-not-so-friendly friction caused from rubbing against my pants hurts big time
*teary eyes*

On another note, lectures have been driving me up the wall too, with equations and formulas again . My life in SG is not that happening yet because
1) Daily night lectures
2) Allowance is not IN yet lar (yes, I am granted a small amount from the scholarship to survive (else I'd gotta graze on grass) - will blog about it later)
3) Moving around with the superbly efficient public transportation makes me feel awkard ..Ah, I guess I am just another pampered Malaysian who is used to driving
4) Headaches & constipation ...probably still adapting to the new environment

Gee, my Milo (source of cocoa) is finishing ; am contemplating if I should get the Australian's recipe next which is like $3 more expensive?
Meanwhile, please reassure me that the coming week will turn out just fine, anyone cares to give me a bear hug now?

Finally a broadband to myself

After a week's hunt & wait (a lot of patience needed)...finally with the help of a gentleman, WC , I finally proclaimed freedom to my long torture awaited broadband to myself !
Not forgetting my housemate YB who is so gracious to share with me her not-so-stable 2Mbps line (perhaps it was the wifi) meanwhile! NTU's wifi connection is superb but it would be another torture for me to carry my laptop (of which I just realised that it is rather heavy) to Uni everyday?!

Actually there is another person in SG who had helped me MOST, from helping me to hunt for a room to helping me pay 1.5 months rent (all these was when I was still in the jungle) and later meeting me up @ Uni when I was there for registration to check out if I am 'OK'...oh, I am so grateful that God sent an angel name Eunice to lend me a hand when I was 100% crippled at that time. Words cannot express my gratitude for all the kind souls that God has provided along the journey of my life

Well, the list goes on and on and on...of course if I wanna go further I'd have to thank so many more people back in Msia who had extended their hands esp the one who is pampering me most right now? LOL

Anyway, back to the story, I was scouting for a few plans from SingTel, Starhub & M1 and I finally resorted to this. Yes, it is pretty obvious that the gadget is FAT right? And so great now that I'd have to get a USB extender because my mouse's USB head can't fit into the adjacent port...and to make things worse, my laptop has only 2 miserable USB ports

In Sg, it is indeed a torture not having access to information aka internet. And to make things worse, students like me who wish to apply have to undergo several procedures eg
1) payment of $200 for deposit
2) A student pass is needed for application (I will only get mine in 3 weeks time)
3) Not all outlets process #1 & #2 above...so you'd need to travel to one which does if you really want one!

Ah, am I not glad that my worry is now over, all thanks to a gentleman; WC who has been so helpful
P/S : I owe you one yeah...wait till my allowance masuk dulu ah

Goodness, I owe so many people a meal...eg Eunice, wanted to treat her but my allowance's not in yet, and just yesterday, she said she'd give me a treat after her presentations..goodness, all my makan-hutang treats are gonna be so 'overdrafted'...

Will blog more when I have time..these days very busy ok..with subjects registration/books hunting etc and appointment with lecturers to discuss my thesis (Seriously, I am SooO stupid la -- why am I torturing myself with thesis again??) OH! And meeting up friends LOL!

and I think I'm gonna be broke soon ..
